Advanced Technologies for Smart Windows.

FP7 is the short name for the Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development. This is the EU's main instrument for funding research in Europe and it runs from 2007-2013. FP7 is also designed to respond to Europe's employment needs, competitiveness and quality of life.

In July 2011 EC published the call FP7-2012-NMP-ENV-ENERGY-ICT-EeB and asked – amongst others – for project proposals for the topic “EeB.NMP.2012-5: Novel materials for smart windows conceived as affordable multifunctional systems offering enhanced energy control”.

MEM4WIN (and four other projects: HARWIN, SMARTBLIND; WINSMART, EELICON) has been chosen out of 27 proposals to develop novel materials and technologies for smart windows.
